How the course works

  1. PADI eLearning, at home. It’s required, and it’s bought separately from PADI. Buy it through our link so it connects straight to your instructor. If it isn’t done, you can’t start and we’ll have to reschedule.
  2. Briefing and planning. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in. Your instructor goes over the scooter and how to plan a dive with one.
  3. Two dives, one day. With your instructor right there: entries and exits, steering, speed, buoyancy on the move and basic problem solving. Finish both dives and you’re a PADI DPV Diver.

What you’ll practice

  • Operating a scooter safely
  • Managing your speed
  • Holding your buoyancy while you move
  • Entering and exiting with the scooter
  • Maneuvering
  • Handling basic problems
  • Planning a scooter dive

Before you come

  • Finish your eLearning and bring proof that it’s complete: a screenshot of the final page or the completion email works.
  • Bring your certification card and a dive computer, or rent one when you book.
  • Bring a swimsuit, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, rashguard), a towel and dry clothes.
  • Rental gear is BCD, regulator, mask, snorkel and fins. Add it when you book.
  • There are no restrooms close to the dive site, so stop before you come. The meeting point and directions are in your confirmation email.
