How the course works

  1. PADI eLearning, at home. It’s required, and it’s bought separately from PADI. Buy it through our link so it connects straight to your instructor. If it isn’t done, you can’t start and we’ll have to reschedule.
  2. Set up your rig. Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and the briefing. Your instructor coaches you through equipment setup and configuration, so the kit fits and sits right.
  3. Three dives, one day. Trim, buoyancy, gas management and emergency procedures, with individual coaching in a controlled setting. Finish the dives and you’re a PADI Sidemount Diver.

Your sidemount kit

A sidemount rig is required: harness, wing and regulators. Ideally, bring your own, so you learn on the setup you’ll keep diving.

No rig? Rent ours. It’s $35, plus tax, for the sidemount kit and the rest of your scuba gear (mask, snorkel and fins included). Choose rental gear when you book so we have it ready and fitted.

Before you come

  • Finish your eLearning and bring proof that it’s complete: a screenshot of the final page or the completion email works.
  • Bring your certification card, your sidemount kit if you have one, and a dive computer, or rent them when you book.
  • Bring a swimsuit, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, rashguard), a towel, dry clothes, water and a snack.
  • Restrooms may not be close to the training site, so stop before you come. The meeting point and directions are in your confirmation email.
