How the course works

  1. PADI eLearning, at home. It’s required, and it’s bought separately from PADI. Buy it through our link so it connects straight to your instructor. If it isn’t done, you can’t start and we’ll have to reschedule.
  2. At the shop, about 2.5 hours. Your instructor starts with a briefing, then you handle the oxygen equipment yourself, under supervision, following the safety procedures.
  3. Hands-on practice. You practice the skills yourself, the way you’d help an injured diver or patient while waiting for EMS. Then we process your certification.

What you learn

  • When emergency oxygen is needed
  • How to assemble, handle and operate an oxygen unit
  • How to use non-rebreather masks, demand valves and pocket masks
  • Safe storage and use of oxygen
  • How to help an injured diver or patient until EMS arrives

It’s a good fit for divers, boat crew, lifeguards, or anyone who wants a practical emergency skill.

Before you come

  • Finish your eLearning and bring proof that it’s complete. A screenshot of the final completion page or your confirmation email works.
  • Complete your waivers before the class. Under 18? A parent or guardian comes to sign.
  • Bring comfortable clothes, drinking water, a notebook if you like taking notes, and your reading glasses if you need them.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early at the shop: 16-20 Ave. Aguas Buenas, Urb. Santa Rosa, Bayamón. Parking out front is limited; there’s always parking nearby around the corner.
